New Displays at the Brandon History Center

This chest was just obtained from Chris Lorsung recently.

 
 
 
Ferdinand Dobmeyer was the son of George.  Ferdinand was always involved in work at the Mill.  from when he was a little boy helping with the construction.  When George passed away in 1885, Ferdinand was able to remain with the Mill, with J.C. Drexler hired as manager.  Ferdinand was only 14 years old at the time.  Mr. Drexler installed the first steam engine in 1887.  At the age of 17, Ferdinand Dobmeyer became the sole owner and manager of the Mill and remained so up to his retirement.
