Chippewa Park under going a face lift

Chippewa Park has been a Douglas County Park since 1987

The Douglas County Developmental Achievement Group (adults with special needs) have done the flowers in 2015 and plan to do it again this year.

Under the direction of Brad Bonk, Douglas County Park Superintendent, many dead basswood and other dead trees have been taken down and will be replaced with new oak and maple trees.  Work has begun on creating new walking trails.  Ground work is being done for a new volleyball court.  The Lake Chippewa beach has been extended.  The parking lot has been enlarged.  More playground equipment and a basketball hoop are also in future plans.

Barb wire fence have been taken down to allow new walking trails.

Lots of clean up to be done.

All the brush and branch mulch will be used on the new walking trails.
