Father Peter Lorsung First Mass 1933

Peter Lorsung attended St. John's Prep School, University, and Seminary.  He was ordained a priest June 5, 1933.  He was assigned to St. Boniface at Melrose 1933-34, St. Patrick at Melrose 1934-37, St. Mary Cathedral at St. Cloud 1937, St. Patrick in Minden township 1937-38, Sacred Heart at Sauk Rapids 1938-46 and again at St. Mary Cathedral 1946-53.  He was made a Monsignor in December 1953 and was the Vicar General of the Diocese of St. Cloud during the episcopacy of Bishop Peter Bartholome from 1953-68.  After that he was at the Alexius at West Union and St. Bartholomew at Villard 1968-73, and St. Joseph at Grey Eagle and St. Bernard at Ward Springs 1973-86.  He retired at Grey Eagle in 1986. Peter passed away on Sept. 11, 1992 at the age of 85.
